(About The Images)
1939-D Arkansas. NGC MS-66. 1939-D Arkansas. NGC MS-66.
Lot Title: 1939-D Arkansas. NGC MS-66.
Description: Only 2104 examples of the Arkansas half were struck in Denver in 1939, bestowing key-date status on this otherwise innocuous issue. Powder-beige patina visits this example, carefully disguising the few tiny ticks that show up under a loupe. The grade limiting factor is undoubtedly a near-horizontal hairline Liberty's upper cheekbone. Although struck in low relief, the Denver mint was producing coins of high quality in 1939, and this Arkansas is uncharacteristically well struck.
Low Estimate: $1,000.00
High Estimate: $1,300.00
