(About The Images)
1925-S California. NGC MS-64. 1925-S California. NGC MS-64.
Lot Title: 1925-S California. NGC MS-64.
Description: Unusually nice surface quality (despite grading just MS-64 at NGC) furnishes brilliance and dappled, original ocean-blue and cola-gold colors. The California Diamond Jubilee has a peculiar mint luster all its own, due to the concavity of the fields, giving a pleasing three-dimensional effect. Persistent inspection reveals no obvious grade limiting factors, leading to the conclusion that the assigned grade is conservative.
Low Estimate: $350.00

1925-S California MS-62, 1936 Bridgeport MS-63, and a 1937 Roanoke...
Why the California grades only MS-62 will seem obscure given the attractive presentation, until one uses a loupe to discover faint, feathery hairlines darting about from an old, inadvertent wipe. The...
542The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$800.00
1925-S California, 1935 Connecticut, and 1936 Wisconsin, all PCGS...
Eunice Peters Estate. A bit better as commemorative types, each member of this trio displays superb frosty luster, and all are in PCGS green-label holders, helping to ensure surface stability. The...
1324The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$615.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-65.
Clem Stevens Collection. Possibly underrated at MS-65, this California features much nicer luster than usual for the type, with coruscating brilliance throughout. There are simply no marks to be...
1061The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$475.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-65.
In any grade, the 1925-S California is one of the tougher silver commemoratives, with high grade examples particularly desirable. This coin is graded MS-65 by NGC, and seems to be an exceptional...
192The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$750.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-66.
Aesthetic quality is best acknowledged with the aid of a loupe, as that allows full appreciation of the lovely, vivid rainbow toning that follows an inner path with relation to the obverse rim. ...
437The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$1,000.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-66.
(Ex. Heritage 4/30/2009:3349, formerly NGC/CAC SN 3214432-001) As is the case with many of the commemorative issues, luster exhibited by a 1925-S California half is much different from the frosty...
384The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$625.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-65.
Persistent cartwheel luster successfully fights through a blanket of patina that displays alternately as peach-gold color, or dusky magenta-blue, depending on how the coin is tilted. An absolutely...
385The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$900.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-66.
Clearly superior to the typical gem, the radiant fields beam with luxurious aluminum sheen, tinged along the right margin with honey-gold accents. The reverse is intensely white.
393The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$975.00
1925-S California. PCGS MS-66.
Blinding white brushed-aluminum luster blazes off this very gem California commemorative. Hardly the slightest trace of tone appears on either side, save a limited supply of tobacco accents confined...
371The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$330.00
1925-S California Diamond Jubilee, PCGS MS-64
Curious sassafras color partially layers most of this steely, glinting coin. A moderate array of carbon spots pepper parts of the obverse, but overall, this coin has intriguingly good eye appeal. ...
1149The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$220.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-63.
This popular issue's shimmering lustrous surfaces are enhanced by sumptuous russet toning augmented by tinges of turquoise and crimson. A few ticks, die striations, and hairlines are noted beneath...
1208The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$600.00
1925-S California. ANACS MS-64.
Mottled tones of russet, rose, and turquoise adorn the obverse and reverse of this super PQ Commemorative. I guess the guys at ANACS were feeling a bit grumpy the day this coin was graded as it has...
1566The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$390.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-64.
I dare you to find another Commemorative that is a pretty as this one. As a matter of fact, the word pretty doesn't do this coin justice, so let us call it exquisite. Banded rainbow hues of magenta,...

1925-S California. PCI MS-64.
This blazing white California Commemorative has minimal marks, a strong strike, and rolling luster. This is a super coin that will slide nicely into any Commemorative collection.
1569The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$900.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-65.
This a stellar example of a popular Commemorative issue. The obverse and reverse are both dripping with luster and are attractively toned. It is housed in a very old NGC holder and could be a...
1570The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,200.00
1925-S California. NGC MS-66.
An intertwining opulent array of magenta, russet, and blue embellish its rich surfaces. A meager number of speckles are practically concealed by the dominance of these displayed hues. The prominent...

1925-S California NGC MS-65.
I just do not know what it is, but I do not trust the bear on the reverse of this coin. I guess it is because it looks like he is trying to sneak up on the prospector on the obverse. Seriously...
914The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$360.00
1925-S California. MS-65.
This may be one of the coolest commemoratives made in this cataloger's opinion. This example is fully struck, problem free, full of luster, and blazing white.
