Lot Title:
1891 $10.00. XF.
Description:
Fr-371. VF to XF grade, clearly stored folded over for a long time, no doubt to honor this fascinating note as a memento. Neatly penciled twice in contemporary penmanship is the phrase: "From my Dear Mother / May 5th 1900". One can only imagine the emotion behind that statement.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Lot # | Auction | Current Bid or Hammer Price | Description |
68 | The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014 | $400.00 |
1891 $10.00. PCGS VG-10/rust stains/discoloration on back.
Fr# 370. Free from pinholes but the bottom edge shows one tiny incursion. Old paperclip rust caused some minor discoloration on the back. |
158 | The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012 | $3,100.00 |
1891 $10.00 PCGS CHCU-64PPQ.
Fr# 370. Fantastic quality with a laser-sharp portrait and a shimmering paper/ink combination. Seldom found in such high grade, with perhaps slightly uneven margins barring a gem grade. |
170 | The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007 | $1,400.00 |
1891 $10.00. XF.
Fr-370. Lightly pressed, and with a small margin tear, but still a relatively high grade Treasury Note example. The paper is crisp and very near AU quality. |
