(About The Images)
1879 ANACS PF-62. 1879 ANACS PF-62.
Lot Title: 1879 ANACS PF-62.
Description: Brilliantly mirrored fields provide a fine, watery backdrop for the devices, which are slightly frosted. A foggy, opaque patina resides on the right side of the obverse, and also thinly layers some of the reverse, and it may have an impact on the quality of the mirrors, because the reflectivity elsewhere is undeniably attractive. This coin is probably a little less hairlined than typical of a PF-62 grade, and if the haze could be safely conserved, the full beauty of the surfaces might be revealed.
Low Estimate: $1,750.00
High Estimate: $1,900.00
Lot Status: Bidding has been closed for this lot.

1879 NGC PF-65 CAMEO.
The series of proof Trade dollars is probably one of the most underappreciated, since the design, which appears relatively bland in the usual business strike format, is considerably elevated in terms...
559The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$3,400.00
1879 NGC PF-64.
Surfaces are surprisingly free from hairlines or distractions for PF-64, and the watery reflectivity and preservation are unexpectedly attractive for the grade level. Eye-appeal may be modestly...
736The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$2,950.00
1879 PCGS PF-63.
The effect of wispy hairlines in the fields is significantly pacified by the opaque patina that has settled across each side. Fortunately, the deeply mirrored fields are hardly impeded by the patina,...

1879 PF-63+.
An uncertified proof 1879 Trade dollar that grades PR-63 and possesses pleasing, original rim tone, fantastic deep mirrors, and a boatload of eye appeal. Significant cameo effect is noted.
711The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$1,000.00
1879 PF-60.
Covered with lots of hairlines, but the details are commendable on this difficult type.

1879 PF-55.
A Proof-only issue that is deeply shaded in exquisite mauve tones bedecking its surfaces that are more reflective on the reverse. This desirable date has only 1,541 recorded as being struck. Some...
