Lot Title:
1878-S NGC MS-60.
Description:
MS-60 generally denotes a mint-state coin of poor visual appeal, but the 1878-S double-eagle offered here benefits considerably from a somewhat prooflike aspect that is particularly noticeable on the obverse. The reverse is also highly reflective, but lacks the cameo contrast of the obverse. Unquestionably more appealing than the technical grade suggests.
