Lot Title:
1867 PCGS PF-64CAM.
Description:
Only a little off-white and gleaming with silvery brightness, the relative absence of patina allows the full brilliance and cameo contrast of this little jewel to shine with full effect. Type collectors should note that the obverse mirrors are significantly deeper than those of the reverse, meaning the intent of the mint is fortuitously presented by the more important side. Delicate hairlines materialize on either side as the coin is tilted and twisted under a lamp, but they do not seriously impede the eye appeal, which is formidable. And of course, the cameo designation ensures outstanding contrast between the fleecy devices and their respective fields.
