Lot Title:
1850 Large Date. NGC AU-58.
Description:
A copious supply of tiny abrasions are more at fault for loss of luster than actual wear, as there is very little indication of rub on the design elements. That mint luster which is protected by lettering and devices appears to be somewhat reflective, implying that this coin likely never had "booming" mint luster to start with. Unusually pale in color, with lemon-yellow hue that is more often associated with Charlotte gold.
