(About The Images)
1970-S Jefferson nickel struck on cent planchet, PCGS MS-63. 1970-S Jefferson nickel struck on cent planchet, PCGS MS-63.
Lot Title: 1970-S Jefferson nickel struck on cent planchet, PCGS MS-63.
Description: Side by side comparison of color to an uncirculated red cent of the same vintage might not lead to immediate recognition that the planchet used to strike this 1970-S nickel was one intended for use as a cent, but the diameter certainly suggests it. The erroneous, pale burgundy-pink planchet was nearly perfectly centered when struck, which is a desirable characteristic for "wrong planchet" errors.
