1893 Isabella Quarter and 1900 Lafayette commemorative silver dollar, XF. 1893 Isabella Quarter and 1900 Lafayette commemorative silver dollar, XF.
Lot Title: 1893 Isabella Quarter and 1900 Lafayette commemorative silver dollar, XF.
Description: Marquis de Lafayette and Queen Isabella make their presence known by this pair of early commemorative coins. The quarter has uncirculated details, but has been cleaned, and now displays moderate hairlines in addition to an oblong corroded area in front of the monarch's nose. The dollar has XF-40 details and is also cleaned, but hairlines are less prevalent, with the cleaning indicated by overly bright surfaces. Two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Two 1893 Isabella Quarter. XF and AU details/cleaned.

1893 Isabella Quarter. PCGS MS-62.
An 1893 Isabella quarter graded MS-62 by PCGS. Well-struck with original deep toning. The reverse shows less color and more luster. Slide marks on the obverse account for the lower MS grade.

1893 Isabella Quarter. ICG MS-65.
Unquestionably original and blazing with cartwheel luster, neither side is limited in eye-appeal by extensive platinum-gold toning. This gem is more sharply struck than many competing examples, and...

1893 Isabella Quarter. MS-60 Details, Altered Surfaces.

1893 Isabella Quarter. NGC MS-61.
The authorized mintage was to have been 40,000. However only 24,191 pieces were sold, and the remaining pieces were shipped back to the Philadelphia Mint, then melted. This example is alluringly...
1140The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$350.00
1893 Isabella Quarter. AU-50 Cleaned.
This Isabella Quarter has AU+ detail and nice color, but unfortunately at some point in time it has been cleaned. Original mint luster can still be observed on both the obverse and reverse.
1141The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$400.00
1893 Isabella Quarter. ANACS MS-60 Details Artificially Toned.

1185The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$575.00
1893 Isabella Quarter. MS-62.
An attractive quarter that has pleasing orange tones and a lot of luster. There are some die polishing lines on the obverse and reverse, but they do not take away from the grade of this coin.
1186The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$625.00
1893 Isabella Quarter. PCGS MS-63.
Violet toning adorns the peripheries of the obverse, while the reverse is nearly all white. It is fully struck and has no blemishes.

1893 Isabella Quarter. PCGS MS-64.
Rich violet-pewter in color with bright and reflective russet shades dancing around the peripheries. There are no major blemishes worth mentioning, just the minor MS-64 chatter expected.

1893 Isabella Quarter. NGC AU-58.
Within the arrangement of the early Commemorative silver series, this is the only Commemorative issue of this denomination. Lustrous surfaces are overlain with mottled deep hues of purples, blues,...

1893 Isabella Quarter. SEGS MS-61.
Attractive tones of gold, violet, magenta, and green adorn the peripheries of both sides. There does appear to be broken luster on the obverse, but this Commemorative often comes somewhat dull.
