Lot Title: 1938-D, 1941-S, 1942-S, 1943, 1944-S and 1946-D Walking Liberty half-dollars, NGC MS-64.
Description: The MS-64 grade has been judiciously applied by NGC to each of the six Walking Liberty half-dollars in this assortment, which contains some much tougher short-set issues. Included with commentary are: 1938-D (incredibly satiny and white), 1941-S (moderate mauve color and a little better strike than typical), 1942-S (kiss of gold, typical strike), 1943 (shimmering white), 1944-S (shining white, slightly mushy strike), and 1946-D (streaky bronze on beige patina). Your consideration is heartily recommended for this six coin lot.

741The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$740.00
Six 1938-D Walking Liberty half-dollars, VG to F.
New World Estate. Every single coin exhibits utterly immaculate, supremely original patina and no problems whatsoever. One of the VG coins has an interesting wavy toning pattern on the reverse, and...
875The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$1,000.00
1938-D NGC MS-64.
Mintage: 491,600. For any iteration of a Walking Liberty "short set" of half-dollar, 1938-D ranks as the undisputed key, stemming from an initial production of under half a million pieces. NGC has...
876The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$2,100.00
1938-D PCGS MS-66.
Roman Powers Collection. 340 graded MS-66, 23 higher at PCGS. The low mintage under half a million pieces automatically makes the 1938-D a candidate for key status, but look at the population...
745The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$270.00
Four 1938-D.
A quartet of keys to the latter part of a circulated Walker series, and all are original. Grades appear to progress sequentially from through F-12, F-15, VF-20, and VF-25. Could this be the start of...
549The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,000.00
1938-D PCGS MS-65.
Fully lustrous but not quite blazing, the eye-appeal derives great benefit from an excellent strike. The value of 1938-D is simply overrated in lower circulated grades, but at the gem level,...
626The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$725.00
1938-D PCGS MS-64.
The key to the latter half of the Walking Liberty half-dollar series (1936 - 1947) is hands-down 1938-D in any grade range. While scarcity of the issue is exaggerated in well circulated grades, it is...
506The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$250.00
1938-D PCGS Genuine.
Nice uncirculated appearance, but obviously brightened and cleaned. The thumb and skirtline detailing are strong. There is a significant contact mark on the lower portion of the eagle's wing.
1493The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$650.00
1938-D NGC MS-63.
Dripping with luster, and with the amount of marks seen on many examples graded MS-64. The dress and feather detail are both very solid.
636The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$190.00
1938-D AU-53.
This key date issue is in a very desirable condition. The coin is a solid AU and is totally original. There are no major marks and only very minimal wear.
637The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$850.00
1938-D NGC MS-64.
Just the very slightest trace of violet flows along with the luster on the obverse surfaces. It is quite attractive. A couple of hairlines, literally, from being MS-65.
