(About The Images)
1935-D and 1936-D Washington quarters, PCGS MS-64. 1935-D and 1936-D Washington quarters, PCGS MS-64.
Lot Title: 1935-D and 1936-D Washington quarters, PCGS MS-64.
Description: Any Washington quarter enthusiast who enjoys gleaming white coins and has several key holes to fill needs to pay attention to this pair of very tough issues, both graded MS-64 by PCGS. The 1935-D bursts with shimmering, silver mint luster that is moderated at the extreme edges by rays of light golden tone. Vaguely apparent bagmarks limit this coin's grade. Accompanying is a 1936-D, the third key in the set, and this is a fantastic blast-white piece with blazing mint luster that is far nicer than usual for the issue. This coin appears to be fully "gem" at first glance, but further observation discovers slide marks on the portrait that mandate the assigned grade. Both coins are generally white, except for the light rim tone ascribed to the 1935-D. An important two coin lot.

557The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$900.00
1935-D PCGS MS-65.
1935-D might be the fifth and final real key to the Washington quarter series, at least in grades of MS-65 or so. That exact PCGS grade almost seems too low for an example of this caliber, with...
441The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$450.00
1935-D NGC MS-65.
At the gem level, 1935-D might be the fourth most difficult Washington quarter to locate, exceeded by the two 1932s and 1936-D. Even 1937-S becomes more available in such a lofty grade. This...
404The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$575.00
1935-D NGC MS-65.
Limited lilac-magenta patina does not inhibit scintillating luster in the slightest, but may help attenuate any of the small contact marks expected of the grade. Struck only with average detail.
430The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$290.00
1935-D MS-63.
A blazing white quarter with rolling luster and a monster strike.
