Lot Title:
Five Capped Bust half-dollars.
Description:
All of the Capped Bust half-dollars in this lot are premium quality, problem-free examples. An 1808 O-102a grades XF-45 and is nicely patinated in grey color, and it is followed by an 1810 O-101 that also grades XF-45. Both of these Overton examples are known for their nice obverse die cracks. Next is an 1824 O-107 that grades AU-53, and this coin possess attractive peripheral album toning. The fourth coin is an 1831 O-108 that grades XF-45 and is mostly brilliant, and the lot concludes with an 1834 O-102 that grades AU-50 and retains exceptional original surface quality. A highly commendable five coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
