(About The Images)
1921-D XF. 1921-D XF.
Lot Title: 1921-D XF.
Description: There is no question whatsoever that the three issues from 1921 are the keys to a circulated set of Walking Liberty half-dollars. It is instructive to note that even in a grade of just "extremely fine", each is valued at no less than a thousand dollars (three thousand dollars in the case of the "S"). Because of their elite status, all three issues have been the target of coin doctors over the years, resulting in too many cleaned, whizzed or otherwise altered coins. Fortunately, the example offered here has suffered no such ill effects. On the contrary, this is a delightfully original, unaltered coin with an absolutely perfect silver-grey patina. The obverse is of a quality that could never be improved upon for the grade, being completely devoid of any blemishes or spots of any kind. The reverse is identically as pleasing, save an inconspicuous rim tick at 10:00 that has no bearing whatsoever on the grade or value. Even at current levels, your cataloger feels this to be an undervalued issue, and this is a spectacular example.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
