Lot Title:
1916, 1924, and 1935 Buffalo nickels, NGC.
Description:
A buffalo nickel from each decade of their manufacture in Philadelphia appears in this lot, and they are all certified by NGC. A 1916 is graded MS-62, and except for minor striking deficiency, it is not apparent why the coin didn't achieve a fully choice grade. It is a lustrous, originally patinated example with no problems. The 1924 is also graded MS-62, but in this case, both sides are absolutely overwhelmed by innumerable, mysterious, black microscopic flyspecks, and it is understandable that a conservative grader would deduct a point for that fact. Finally, an astonishingly nice 1935 graded MS-66 completes the lot. This coin revels in chrome-like silver luster and a fantastic strike, and would make a for superb type coin. A rather intriguing three coin lot.
