Lot Title:
1919-D and 1920-D Buffalo nickels, XF.
Description:
The 1919-D is perhaps a little bluntly struck, as the Indian's upper braid area is flatter than usual, but there is actually mint luster remaining on this steely-grey coin. Crumbling of the left obverse rim confirms extended die usage. The accompanying 1920-D presents well at hand's length, but closer examination reveals modest surface granularity and a subtle horizontal wipe across the central obverse area. Two coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
