(About The Images)
1879 PCGS PF-65. 1879 PCGS PF-65.
Lot Title: 1879 PCGS PF-65.
Description: Though the overdate is incorrectly omitted from the slab insert, this is in fact an 1879/8 Shield nickel, which leads to the conclusion that it is most likely a proof. Nonetheless, surface quality and rather prominent cartwheel luster resemble a business strike appearance, and there is no doubt that this coin could unobtrusively serve as such an example in a business strike set.

High Estimate: $700.00
