(About The Images)
1893 NGC MS-63. 1893 NGC MS-63.
Lot Title: 1893 NGC MS-63.
Description: Quite often, a quarter-eagle graded MS-63 will carry its fair share of tiny nicks and abrasions, but such is not the case here. This glistening coin is distinctly semi-prooflike, yet reveals very little disturbance of the surfaces. The overall grade was most certainly determined by handling friction on Liberty's cheek, and a few trivial hairlines in the fields.
Low Estimate: $850.00
High Estimate: $925.00
Lot Status: Bidding has been closed for this lot.

1079The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$1,400.00
1893 PCGS MS-64, and an 1897 NGC MS-64.
Samuel Robertson Gold Consignment. Nineteenth century issues provide some relief from the usual parade of common early twentieth-century coins, and both offer terrific quality for the assigned MS-64...
392The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$450.00
1893 MS-62.
Gorgeous luster emanates from orange-gold fields that show zero noticeable contact marks at arm's length. A loupe is required to find smallish ticks and a tiny hairline just behind Liberty's mouth.
784The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$775.00
1893 PCGS MS-63.
The obverse is fairly well struck, but the reverse is ridiculously sharp, with sculpting of the feathers and talons that borders on insane. For the MS-63 grade, this coin is probably a little weak...
961The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$700.00
1893 PCGS MS-63.
Surfaces display fantastic vintage patina, with a slight mint-green tinge that adds wonderfully to the eye-appeal. It would be tempting to grade this quarter-eagle much higher, since the fields are...
923The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$500.00
1893 NGC MS-62.
A warm yellow-orange glow permeates this piece's velvetlike surfaces. This superb visual aspect is not diminished by the few scattered ticks that are observed.
