(About The Images)
1883-CC NGC AU-55 1883-CC NGC AU-55
Lot Title: 1883-CC NGC AU-55
Description: Mint luster shines only from the peripheral area on the obverse, but the reverse is nearly fully lustrous. Smoothly circulated, with simply no distracting marks at all, and consistent butter-gold color throughout. This is already an expensive coin in AU-55, but fully uncirculated examples hardly ever appear on the market, and command several times the price of even just mildly circulated coins.
Low Estimate: $1,700.00
High Estimate: $1,850.00
Lot Status: Bidding has been closed for this lot.

1094The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$7,000.00
1883-CC NGC AU-58.
Mintage: 59,962. Low emission of the 1883-CC helps explain to some degree the conditional scarcity of the 1883-CC double-eagle. Fewer than a hundred exist in all mint-state grades at NGC, with...
1096The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$2,300.00
1883-CC AU details/cleaned.
New World Estate. Very lightly cleaned such that a certification service might well assign a straight AU grade. Proper lighting reveals modest underlying prooflike character on both sides.
931The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,350.00
1883-CC AU details/cleaned.
Hairlines provide the most obvious evidence of cleaning, though the original mint luster is scarcely impaired. Apparently, this coin was somewhat prooflike when originally struck since the fields...
1002The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$1,100.00
1883-CC Coronet double-eagle with possible double-struck reverse XF.
A beautiful and nicely original representative of Carson City gold - one of the "common" CC issues in the series. What is fascinating about this coin is the extensive doubling of the reverse. ...
450The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$2,300.00
1883-CC NGC AU-58.
An attractive honey gold example with fewer marks than expected for the grade. Only the slightest signs of rub from its short time in circulation are revealed on the very highest points of the...
451The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$2,100.00
1883-CC MS-62 Cleaned.
Light cleaning lines are present on this otherwise pleasing Carson City issue. The obverse detail is fantastic, and the luster remains strong. The unfortunate cleaning allows the winner of this lot...
570The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,600.00
1883-CC AU-55.
This handsome Carson City double eagle retains much of its original luster on its brilliant yellow-gold surfaces. The contact marks and scuffs are not obtrusive. A choice About Uncirculated example...
