Lot Title: 1844 Seated Liberty silver dollar, AU-55
Description: The luster on Seated Liberty dollars is so different and so variable compared to other coins that it often can't be used to accurately gauge a coin's grade, and that is the case here. Having been likely somewhat prooflike when struck, the effect of any friction or abrasion is overly exaggerated. Judging by details and the presence of handling marks, there is very little rub to suggest circulation, and the minuscule handling marks are also suggestive of brief usage. Therefore, your cataloger grades this piece AU-55.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
