1909 Saint-Gaudens double eagle, NGC MS-62 1909 Saint-Gaudens double eagle, NGC MS-62
Lot Title: 1909 Saint-Gaudens double eagle, NGC MS-62
Description: Powdery mustard-yellow color exudes off this conservatively graded double-eagle. The flatness seen at Liberty's knee is typical of the issue, but the surfaces are remarkably clean for the grade, and there are no particularly egregious distractions, particularly on the reverse which seems virtually pristine.

High Estimate: $1,200.00

1261The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$1,850.00
1909 NGC MS-63.
A single bagmark trespasses on Liberty's shin and constitutes the most distracting mark, though the sun shows a small depression as well. A bit flatly struck as usual for the date.
1019The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,600.00
1909 ANACS MS-62.
Electrical banana... is gonna be a sudden craze, but don't call it "mellow yellow", as the surfaces blaze with too much luster to be all that mellow. Dull contact on Liberty's torso seems to be...
1063The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$2,500.00
1909/8 NGC MS-62.
This super tough overdate Saint-Gaudens has orange peel surfaces and a monster strike. There are very few marks and not one copper toning fleck. This piece has the luster of an MS-64, but it has a...
641The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$725.00
1909 MS-60+.
This lustrous specimen displays a velvety aspect and resplendent surfaces. There are no obtrusive marks, just an array of typical contact ticks for this grade level. The details depicting Liberty's...
1227The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$1,150.00
1909 NGC MS-62.
A rich orange hue blankets the velvet like lustrous surfaces, and this overshadows the minuscule contact ticks seen using a glass.
