(About The Images)
Lot Title:
1903 NGC MS-62.
Description:
Appears to be conservatively graded, as there are none of the typical blemishes and surface abrasions that usually restrict gold half eagles to the MS-62 level. Three copper spots are visible on the upper obverse rim, but are hardly distracting enough to warrant a downgrade. Your cataloger can only surmise only that a couple of rather meaningless bagmarks at the back of Liberty’s neck compelled the lower than expected grade.

Lot # | Auction | Current Bid or Hammer Price | Description |
1018 | The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008 | $1,100.00 |
1903 PCGS MS-64.
Very sharply struck, as is often the case for this common issue. The luster is just a hint muted, but the eye appeal is praiseworthy. |
935 | The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008 | $900.00 |
1903 Coronet half-eagle, NGC MS-63
This is a somewhat pale gold coin with glistening straw-gold surfaces and plenty of mint luster. A good strike adds appeal. |
1117 | The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006 | $180.00 |
1903 SEGS MS-62 Light Cleaning.
Even with the light, long ago cleaning, this bon-a-fide Unc remains appealing. The detail is impeccable. |
