Lot Title:
1880 PCGS PF-64.
Description:
Only 36 pieces were struck in Proof during 1880 -- 20 on February 14, and 16 on October 2. It is estimated that only around 10 of these are extant, making it a major rarity. This handsome specimen has acquired an intense, rich red-orange aspect. The deep mirrored fields support exquisite motifs, with the obverse design element exhibiting a frosty aspect. Appears conservatively graded, even with the few observed lint marks, because it is so attractive. This sale presents a momentous opportunity for the connoisseur to obtain an important numismatic prize!
