Mintage: 7000. The four-digit production makes the 1859-S a target for investors and collectors alike, especially as attrition has left probably not much more than a hundred survivors or so in existence today. Pale gold toward the edges, the central areas blush with peach toning that adds a touch of pizzazz to either side. A smooth example that manages to retain a hint of luster in the protected edge areas. (PCGS# 008630)
