Lot Title:
Nine Indian half-eagles, as described.
Description:
Mike Wrinkle Collection. Dispensing quickly with dates, we find that all are different and listed as follows: 1908, 1909, 1909-D, 1910, 1911, 1911-S, 1912, 1912-S, 1913. Inasmuch as every one of these has details in the AU grade range, they make for a pleasantly consistent appearance overall in that regard. Unfortunately, full disclosure suggests that most of these have been cleaned at least modestly, and 1911-S appears to have been lightly polished. This may be an excellent way for the beginning collector to gain entry into one of the "doable" series of U.S. gold at a level that makes sense for the budget-conscious buyer. Nine coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
