Lot Title:
1871-S NGC XF-45.
Description:
Some luster sparkles through the outer reaches of the obverse, while the reverse definitely shows off nice cartwheel effect, suggestive of a full AU grade. Light wear shows up almost more as dull grey discoloration than actual rub, although Liberty's hair strands have noticeably lost some sharpness to circulation. A nice change of pace from the endless parade of common dates changing hands in today's bullion-driven market. (PCGS# 008962)

Mint luster protected in the recessed areas gently caresses the devices and provides cartwheel effect at the periphery despite the short time spent in circulation. Features a woefully tiny "S" mint... |

This is a nice early date Double Eagle. It has some original mint luster lurking around the devices. |
