Lot Title:
1906-D PCGS MS-64+ CAC.
Description:
Color is unusual and fascinating, but apparently wholly original as there is no evidence of any surface alteration at all, and indeed, some nice streaky grease marks affirm the original quality. Specifically, the surfaces are bronze-gold, and reminiscent of the hues sometimes attained by copper-nickel Indian cents. On account of the dense patina, potent luster remains mildly subdued, but "all there" nonetheless upon discerning investigation. An interesting coin, to say the least. (PCGS# 008414)

1906-D XF details/cleaned, and a 1911 XF details/cleaned.
1906-D could garner some consideration for AU details, but surfaces are somewhat dull from cleaning. 1911 is just modestly cleaned, but displays only XF details. Two coin lot. |

868 | The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010 | $460.00 |
1906-D NGC MS-62.
A pair of dimpled abrasions and some wispy, scritch-scratches on the cheek limit the grade to the MS-62 level. Luster and strike are only about average for this common half-eagle. |
