1907 High Relief Wire Rim. PCGS Genuine (MS-63 details/lightly cleaned/code 92). 1907 High Relief Wire Rim. PCGS Genuine (MS-63 details/lightly cleaned/code 92).
Lot Title: 1907 High Relief Wire Rim. PCGS Genuine (MS-63 details/lightly cleaned/code 92).
Description: The high-relief Saints may not be as famous for their lovely matte texture as for their exquisite relief, but that texture does play an important aesthetic role in the artistry of Saint-Gaudens' vision. In this case, the surfaces have been lightly cleaned such that the texture is mildly subdued, just enough to make for a slightly glossy appearance. Nonetheless, the eye appeal is virtually identical to that of any example in lower mint-state grade, and even close examination finds only the mildest friction on the high points, most evident along the very top edge of the eagle's leading wing. No matter what kind of caveats are thrown at it, this slightly impaired coin retains nearly all its original majesty. (PCGS# 009135)
