Lot Title:
1884-CC, 1892-CC, and 1893-CC Liberty half-eagles, as described.
Description:
Carson City Observance Day doesn't usually come around this early in the calendar year, but is celebrated in fine fashion by this trio of half-eagles. 1884-CC grades VF-35, with surfaces modestly dulled by a light, old cleaning. 1892-CC is a gorgeous, humble F-12 and about as perfect as a well circulated gold coin gets, while 1893-CC concludes festivities with flashy, royal-gold surfaces and a grade of XF-40. Three coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

A glowing honey gold example of a conditional rarity. PCGS and NGC have only graded a combined five examples this high. Just one PCGS example is graded higher, and I'd be willing to bet $20 that... |
