Lot Title:
1858-C VF details/cleaned.
Description:
Under 40,000 were originally minted for 1858-C, and it was one of the better produced Charlotte coins, such that a VF like the present example still retains nice sharpness. Mustard-gold surfaces are a little dull from having been wiped, and a couple of circulation marks can be seen on Liberty's cheek. A minor old scratch also appears beneath the eagle's left (observed) wing. (PCGS# 008277)
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

This solid VF half eagle is problem free and attractive. Attractive toning around the devices and on the peripheries give this coin a very cool look. |
