Lot Title:
1888-S NGC MS-62.
Description:
The obverse is about average for MS-62, while the reverse seems to grade MS-64 all by itself, and on top of that, the powder-gold patina is very attractive, indicating a coin that has not been messed with. A subtle ring of mint-blue iridescence encircles the obverse stars and delicately suffuses part of the reverse rim. Nicer than average, without a doubt.

1888-S NGC AU-55 and 1915 $5 Indian NGC MS-61.
The 1888-S becomes rapidly scarcer in grades beyond XF or so, and there is a large percentage jump in value between AU-50 and AU-58. The 1915 is graded MS-61, and it also falls within a grade range... |
