Lot Title:
1874-CC XF details/scratched.
Description:
A decent survival rate from a mintage of 21,198 pieces means the 1874-CC is usually available, though the CC mintmark ensures popularity and strong demand. This issue is not one of the better produced in the series, and weak central details on the obverse support this, though the reverse is reasonably defined. The "minor damage" disclaimer refers to a small pockmark dead center of the obverse, just below Liberty's ear, but many collectors who don't need a certified example will be happy to overlook such an unobtrusive flaw if it means saving a lot of money.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
