Description:
|
By all appearance, these coins have been together as a proof set for quite some time, as preservation and patina are consistent from coin to coin. Trivial incidental hairlines place the silver coins in the PF-64 range, while the nickel appears to grade PF-65 and features a remarkably perfect rainbow effect extending over Monticello's dome. The cent likely grades PF-62 RB. Minor cameo effect on the obverse of the half is bettered by the reverse contrast, and the dime offers excellent obverse cameo contrast as well. Cataloger's note: this is a five-coin proof set, lacking the type-2 (silver) nickel, so adjust bids accordingly.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
