(About The Images)
1891 NGC MS-66. 1891 NGC MS-66.
Lot Title: 1891 NGC MS-66.
Description: Prodigious rainbow color was undoubtedly the result of long term storage in a sulfuric environment. The full spectrum of color is particularly vibrant on the reverse, providing the viewer with an endless variety of red, green and blue tones that interweave and revolve around the entire circumference. Color drenches the obverse, gravitating to the upper and lower areas under alternating bands of indigo, ocean-blue and peach. A spectacular example of eye candy!

597The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$1,200.00
1891 PCGS PF-65 CAM.
Vanilla-beige with flavorful honey-gold at the rims, the appearance of the whole coin benefits from nice framing of the devices. Intricate details could scarcely be better detailed, with trivial...
730The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$700.00
1891 NGC MS-66.
Preserved with fastidious zeal, this dime possesses remarkable satin luster and a mere touch of peach-grey toning that migrates towards the rims. A series of tiny abrasions beneath "AM" provide the...
452The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$625.00
1891 NGC MS-65.
Forceful luster energizes the extremely white brushed-aluminum texture seen on both sides. It is tough to imagine a coin whiter than this! A mere tinge of peach-gold on the rims and a few scattered...
453The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,300.00
1891 PCGS PF-65 Cameo.
Superior contrast cannot be far from the DCAM level, given the complete and unbroken frost across all central devices. Only the peripheral legends reveal limited cameo effect. Ivory-tan patina...
581The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$1,250.00
1891 PCGS PF-65CAM.
Both sides feature very attractive, finely textured ivory-white motifs against watery fields -- the very definition of 19th century "cameo" proof coinage. Vivid wild-plum and magenta toning is...
437The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$240.00
1891 NGC MS-64.
Astoundingly deep, thick rich burgundy-rouge and blue-velvet tone envelopes this entire dime, yielding not one iota of surface area to the underlying silver. This is one crusty piece! Astute...
594The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$260.00
1891 NGC MS-64.
Dense, original patina thoroughly enshrouds both sides in deep, dusky salmon-blue shades of color, ceding to glimmers of midnight-blue at the edges. Extremely well struck.
595The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$525.00
1891 PCGS MS-65.
Intricately sharp details are a welcome bonus for a coin that is already very attractive due to sparkling luster and splashes of honey-gold tone. Housed in a PCGS green label holder, this coin...
596The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$3,400.00
1891 NGC PF-66.
It would appear that by today's grading standards, this absolutely and unconditionally stunning proof dime should easily qualify for a "cameo" designation. There is no question that the devices are...
610The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$875.00
1891 NGC MS-66.
Although the colors are not wild and crazy, the marvelous rainbow tones that permeate both sides, especially the reverse, supply formidable eye appeal to this 1891 dime. Potent mint luster rises...
524The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$230.00
Two PCGS certified Seated Liberty coins
Due to superb, original surface quality, two Seated Liberty coins pair up very nicely in this lot. Both are certified as grading XF-40 by PCGS, and housed in fresh, recent slabs. Included are an...
525The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$625.00
1891 Seated Liberty dime, PCGS MS-65
A fabulously original coin with subtle, yet dynamic mint luster and graceful toning on both sides. The strike on the reverse is particularly sharp, but overall, this coin displays very good...
468The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$190.00
1891 Seated Liberty and 1916-S Barber Dimes. MS-62
The consignor stated that the 1891 dime was removed from an older ANACS holder, where it was graded MS-62. It is an exquisitely attractive coin, with a crescent of ocean-blue color occupying much of...
414The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$250.00
1891 PCGS MS-63.
This specimen's resplendent silver surfaces are magnificently embellished with hues of cobalt-blue and sunsetlike crimson. Delicately clashed on its reverse, the perceived surface marks are...
1213The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$150.00
1891 NGC MS-63.
Housed in an old style NGC encapsulation, this piece's glistening surfaces exhibit nuances of blue and rose tones. A very meager number of ticks and flecks are observed beneath the splendid...
